Our work
Wildlife Guardians supports and strengthens conservation in many forms—from advising aligned initiatives to co-designing impact-driven work that drives real, measurable change.
Through leadership support, facilitation, and strategic convenings, we help organizations and networks stay connected to their purpose, aligned in strategy, and equipped to create lasting impact. Our work includes supporting local and Indigenous leaders, building fundraising and communications capacity, and strengthening metrics and impact frameworks. We partner with both community-based organizations and global conservation donors to advance effective, locally led conservation at scale.
Fiscal Sponsorship & Institutional Support
We provide fiscal sponsorship and operational hosting for aligned conservation initiatives and emerging leaders. Our work provides credibility, compliance, and a nurturing ecosystem for ideas to grow—particularly those rooted in community leadership, coexistence, and women’s environmental action. By offering foundational administrative and strategic capacity, we enable our partners to focus on what matters most: protecting ecosystems, empowering communities, and advancing conservation leadership.
Fundraising & Budget Mentoring
Effective conservation requires both vision and financial resilience. Wildlife Guardians mentors emerging conservation leaders and initiatives in developing sustainable fundraising strategies and values-aligned financial planning. We provide tailored support on grant writing, donor engagement, and budget management. Whether coaching young leaders or strengthening community-based organizations, we help ensure the resources behind conservation are as strong and ethical as the work itself.
Storytelling & Visibility
Wildlife Guardians helps partners build communications capacity through training in strategy and messaging, narrative development, and ethical storytelling—so their messages resonate, build trust, and inspire action rooted in dignity and truth. We help elevate the voices of Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and environmental leaders whose stories often go unheard. Through video, photography, and written storytelling, we share their perspectives with wider audiences– deepening understanding and strengthening support for coexistence and locally led conservation.
Innovation at Wildlife Guardians is rooted in practice, partnership, and people. We co-create solutions that blend Indigenous knowledge with conservation science, pair local insight with emerging technologies, and translate learning into action. From advancing non-invasive wildlife monitoring to strengthening leadership and impact frameworks, we focus on approaches that work on the ground—testing ideas, sharing lessons, and scaling strategies that build resilience and support coexistence and lasting conservation impact.
Integrating Indigenous Knowledge & Conservation Science
Wildlife Guardians believes that effective conservation must be informed by the ecological knowledge held by Indigenous Peoples and local communities. We work with partners to incorporate Indigenous and local knowledge into wildlife monitoring methodologies, data collection and interpretation, and conservation planning and project management – ensuring that scientific approaches are enriched by living cultural wisdom and experience. This integration enhances data integrity, ethical accountability, and relevance to the communities most directly connected to the landscapes being conserved.
Whole Systems Conservation
Our work goes beyond protecting a single species. We take a holistic approach that supports entire ecosystems–and the people who live with wildlife. Healthy lion populations, for example, depend on sustainable grazing systems, resilient prey populations, equitable resource sharing, and strong relationships between people and wildlife. By understanding these interconnections, we help design conservation strategies that support ecological health, cultural vitality, and community well-being.
Facilitation & Strategic Convenings
We design and facilitate gatherings that help people navigate complexity with clarity, trust, shared purpose, and renewed momentum. Our approach blends deep listening, systems thinking, and structured dialogue methods to support groups—particularly in conservation and Indigenous-led contexts where power, identity, and purpose intersect. We guide strategic retreats, high-level forums, and community-based convenings, creating spaces where partners build alignment and momentum for collective action.
Public Speaking & Panel Moderation
We bring honesty and depth to the stage—helping audiences engage with some of the hardest and most necessary conversations in conservation and leadership. Wildlife Guardians has moderated and spoken on international stages across Africa, North America, Asia, and Europe. We specialize in “sitting in discomfort”—because real change happens when people are willing to engage authentically, listen deeply, and face what is often left unsaid.
Advisory & Strategic Partnerships
We provide strategic and operational guidance to conservation initiatives, philanthropic foundations, and cross-sector collaborations. Our advisory work includes aligning strategy with values, supporting governance and leadership transitions, and designing participatory processes for accountability and shared ownership. With a blend of conservation experience, leadership design, and creative facilitation, we help partners navigate complexity while remaining grounded in integrity and purpose.
